⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I’ve loved Emily Oberton’s Hadley Home Design series, so when she asked if I would like to read her newest small-town romance, I jumped at the chance. And she did NOT disappoint! Wrangling with My Ex’s Brother is a sweet, cute, cozy rom-com that I loved from start to finish.
Evie couldn’t wait to escape the small town she grew up in. Her controlling grandfather had kept her under his thumb for years, and a broken heart was the final push out the door. But when her grandfather passes away, she returns home for the funeral and gets the shock of her life: He’s left his ranch to Evie and Colby, her ex’s brother, who worked for him as a rodeo clown. Evie wants to sell and never look back. Colby wants to keep the ranch. But the will says neither can sell without the other’s permission. Talk about a predicament!
What I loved most is the romance. Evie has good reasons to keep her guard up, and Colby is a sweetheart who is more than he lets on. And being her Ex’s brother doesn’t help. Their slow burn is well worth the wait, and the ending is completely satisfying. There’s also a little mystery woven in, with secrets in town that Evie can’t quite figure out. It’s nothing earth-shattering, but it kept me turning pages and added a fun layer to the story.
If you love small-town, slow-burn romance, forced proximity, small-town secrets, a touch of mystery, and great characters you can’t help but fall in love with, grab this one! Easily five stars from me!
